How Visual Group Helped Transform Doncaster's Temple Bar

The Temple opened its doors in Doncaster City Centre in 2025. Formerly occupied by The Magdelen, The Temple is located next door to The Wool Market and opened just in time for St. Patrick’s Day 2025.

Situation:

Having previously worked with the owners on projects like O’Donegan’s Irish Bar and Saddle and Shot country bar, we had already built a strong working relationship. For The Temple, they challenged us to create signage and graphics that would establish the venue as “the place to be in Doncaster” and a place “bursting with inspiration, creativity, and passion.”

Our design team worked alongside the owners every step of the way to bring their vision to life and restore the building to its former glory.

Solution:

To refresh the bar’s exterior, we designed and installed a backlit logo sign with built-up lettering and a fascia sign. These signs ensure improved visual impact and high visibility, especially in low-light conditions.

The rear of the building was worn down and needed some love and attention. We transformed the gates with Temple-branded vinyl for the beer garden and Guiness-branded vinyl for the main gates. To complete the look, we produced illuminated lettering for the archway, adding a finishing touch to the garden.

Inside the bar, we manufactured LED neon signage to reinforce The Temple’s Irish theme. We also created ACM panels featuring the iconic Guinness toucan and logo to stylise the back of the gates.

It was a pleasure working alongside Leonie and The Temple’s team to make this vision a reality.

We were incredibly proud to see the bar open its doors and gain widespread acclaim on social media following the launch.
